Search by barcode scanning

Starting from version 3.5, it is now possible to search the products in the archive by scanning barcodes.

The search can be done in four different ways:

  1. Press the search button in the toolbar at the bottom of the main page. The search interface will appear above the list of products, allowing you to search for products by name. Next to the text box for entering the name is an icon representing a barcode. Press that icon to start the search by scanning;

  2. Press the search button in the toolbar at the bottom of the main page, then press the button you normally use to add a product by scanning its barcode, also in the toolbar. The scanner will start and then a product search will be performed for the scanned code;

  3. Press the search button and, in the box normally used for text input, manually enter the barcode or part of it, then press enter or the search button next to the text box;

  4. If you frequently search by scanning barcodes, you can configure the app to start the scanner every time you press the search button. Go to the settings page and, in the Search section, enable the option “Start the scanner whenever I press the search button”. If you need to search by name when this option is active, after pressing the search button and waiting for the scanner to activate, press the Back button and perform a search normally.

Whichever method is used to perform the search, it will always be possible to add a new product using the code used for the search, by clicking on the link that appears above the list of search results.
